    These are generally designed to allow participants to enjoy great works of art as well as the architecture, culture and in some cases the archaeology of the particular Venus. In a few cases, the trips are designed specifically to allow students to paint and draw on site. On all these visits people are welcome to pursue their own interests rather than following the main itinerary.

  • Colin painting in Umbria

    Colin is a member of the Colchester Art Society

    Colin Kirby-Green trained at St Martin’s School of Art; he then completed Art Teacher training at Hornsey College of Art, where he also taught for a year. He taught painting & drawing at St Albans School of Art for 5 years and lectured in art appreciation at Hatfield Polytechnic. Colin studied and painted in Italy for extended periods. He taught art at Colchester Grammar School and for the last 14 years has taught painting and drawing and art history at Grey Friars Adult Community College in Colchester.

  • The Studio

    Colins Studio in Brightlingsea

    ‘The Studio’ at East End Green is situated in two and a half acres of garden and field, just outside Brightlingsea town itself. The field gently slopes down to a grass sea wall which borders Brightlingsea creek, affording views across the saltings towards St Osyth’s Creek. This location not only provides a tranquil haven but is also suitable for outdoor painting for students.
